Tour to Turkmenistan & Uzbekistan for 9 days

During the tour around Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan you will visit the most interesting and famous places and sights in these countries of Central Asia. You'll see ancient Dashoguz, Merv and Kunya Urgench; old Khiva and Bukhara; great Samarkand and modern.

Day 1
Ashgabat arrival

Arrival in Ashgabat. Meeting and transfer to the hotel. Check-in, time for rest.

Day 2


Start city tour with visits to Ertogrul Gazy Mosque, Independence Park with Monument of Independence (it's a 118m column that consider the highest building in the country),  Neutrality Arch - an unique composition that  rotates slowly after the sun. Visiting  National Museum, where you can see more than 166 unique  exposition from Ancient Merv and Nissa. 

A trip to ancient Nissa (18km from Ashgabad) that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the ruins of the ancient city (the date of foundation of the I millennium BC - I millennium BC). Return back to Ashgabad. Visit en-route Turkmenbashi Mosque-Mausoleum. It's considered the biggest in Central Asia (10 thousands of people). There're beautiful garden and fountains near the mosque. 

Free time. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3
Ashgabat - Mary

Breakfast in the hotel.

Transfer to the airport.

06:15 depart to Mary by morning flight.

06:55 arrival in Mary.

Trip to Gonur Depe (UNESCO) that is a capital temple city of the country Margush. Necropolis of Gonur Tepe holds a lot of mysteries for historians, archaeologists and scientists. 

Upon return to Mary, visit to History museum of Merv region.  

Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4
Mary - Uzbekistan border - Bukhara 
Excursion to Ancient Merv (UNESCO). Discover historical park with: Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum, Mohammed bin Said Mausoleum, medieval castles – “Kesk” fortresses (6-7 centuries) and others. Return to Mary. 
Continue to the border post for border crossing.
Meeting in Uzbekistan, transfer to Bukhara. Arrival, hotel check-in. Free time.
Day 5

Breakfast in the hotel.
City tour along the old part of Bukhara including visits to the Mausoleum of Samanids, Bolo Hauz Mosque and the Ark Fortress – the oldest citadel dating back to I century BC, Poi Kalon Square with Kalon Minaret and Mosque, Mir Arab Madrassa.

There are three trading domes or so called covered bazaars preserved from the XVI century and these bazaars were the centers for trade of silk, jewelry and even for money exchange. Today as well, one can enjoy and purchase different souvenirs of a wide range, from small souvenir magnets to the famous Bukhara carpets.

A visit to Ulughbek and Abdulazizkhan Madrassas, Abdullakhan’s Tim and a visit to the Caravanserai Sayfuddin (Center of Handicraft Development of Bukhara nowadays), Magoki Attari Mosque and Lyabi Hauz square that is the center of old Bukhara. This complex includes Nadir Divanbegi Madrassa and Khanaka, Kukeldash Madrassa and the monument of the famous historical comedian figure Khodja Nasreddin is also based in this square.
Dinner with folk show in Nadir Divanbegi Madrassa. Night in the hotel.

Day 6
Bukhara - Shahrisabz -  Samarkand

Breakfast in the hotel.
Drive to Shakhrisabz (298 км). Shakhrisabz is a home - town of Tamerlane and during our 2 hour sightseeing tour you can enjoy the bright example of Central Asian architecture of XIV-XV centuries by visiting: The Ak-Saray Palace – used to be a huge and incredibly beautiful residence of Timur. There are only two pylons (entrance part of the palace) preserved up to this day. Darus Saodat Compldex with Hazrat Imam’s Mosque and Jekhangir’s Mausoleum. Darut Tilavat complex with Kok Gumbaz (Blue Domed) Mosque of Ulughbek, Gumbazi Saidon and Mausoleum of Sheykh Shamsuddin Kulol.  
Drive on to Samarkand (140 км). Arrival. Check in. Resting time.

Day 7
Samarkand - Tashkent


Start sightseeing tour in Samarkand with visits to the famous Registan Square – a heart of Samarkand and real masterpiece of Central Asian medieval architecture. The complex consists of three grandiose buildings: Ulughbek Madrassa, Madrassa Sherdor and Madrassa Tilla Kori. A visit to Gur Emir Mausoleum – a burial vault of Timurids dynasty; Bibi Khanim Mosque – the biggest medieval building in the city; Shahi Zinda Necropolis – unique complex of Mausoleums; Ulugbek’s Observatory – one of the most important astronomical centers;        
A visit to the Mausoleum of Khodja Doniyor known as Saint Daniel. Members of the three religions – Muslims, Christians and Jewish visit and treat the mausoleum with respect; Samarkand local bazaar - Siyab     

17:00 depart for Tashkent by fast train "Afrosiab"

19:10 arrival in Tashkent.

Meeting, transfer to the hotel. Free time. 

Day 8

Breakfast in the hotel.   
Start sightseeing tour of Tashkent to the old and new parts of the city: Amir Timur Square, Theatre Square with the Opera House, Applied Art Museum, Earthquake Memorial, Abdul Kasim Madrassah and Alisher Navoi National Park, Independence Square,  Khast Imam Square – a religious center of the city consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah, Kaffal  Shashi Mausoleum and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Koran Book of the VII century.

Free time. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9


Transfer to the airport. Departure, The end of the tour.
